She's 3!

So I'm a few weeks off... but March 8th was only three weeks ago. :)

Okay, here's the typical mom comment: I can't believe Katelyn is already three! Where did the last three years go?! Her birthday was a perfect sunny southern California day, complete with a trip to a park, a pony ride, and a new big-girl bed. Here are a few pictures to fill you in on the festivities.

Grandpa and Nana surprised Kate with a sandbox, first thing in the morning. It has definitely been a hit!

Wow! A sandbox!

"Isn't it so much fun to have our very own sandbox in our backyard?!"
(A direct quote from playtime last week.)

Then it was off to Irvine Regional Park. They have a fun little train (our first stop), pony rides, a small zoo, and plenty of ducks to feed. It was a lovely morning!

With Mommy on the train.

A third birthday wouldn't be complete without a pony ride.

With Daddy at the zoo.

Look at my messy hands! What yummy chocolate icing on this cupcake!

Home for dinner with Granny and Gigi. Yummy pizza, a delicious strawberry cake, and a few more presents.

Oooh! Three candles for me to blow out!

The best part of having birthday candles on a cake.

Always so sweet; taking time to read the cards.

Putting baby Violet in her new cradle.

If I can figure out how to include a video, there will be more to come...

Yea!! Love all the pictures! Kate is so beautiful! My favorite picture is the one of you two on the train. Who made the nifty Pooh cake? --Donna S.

Thanks again for the lovely lunch, Donna. It was a treat to spend time with your family!

I can take credit for the cake. It was a lot of fun to make, and I was pretty happy with the outcome!
