Weekly funnies, by Kate
As I've been perusing blogs this evening, I realized that I couldn’t leave my blog with that last post. I really need something else from this week, so here's what I've got.
Katelyn has a fascination with death these days. It could have something to do with our cat's incredible ability to catch rats and birds, and that there have been two "presents" left in the past week. Or, it could have something to do with the story Kate overheard me telling Martin about the two dolphins at Sea World who collided mid-air last week. Or it could be that, simply put, death is all around us, and comes up in conversation much more than we think (until we have a three year old hanging on our every word). All this to say that there was a funny little banter that occurred last night as I was getting dinner on the table.
As I'm working in the kitchen, I overhear Martin and Kate in the dining room:
Katelyn is relaying some silly story to Martin, to which he replies,
"... no, you're joking with me!"
Then, he goes on to say,
"Why did the chicken cross the road?"
Katelyn: "I don't know."
Me (from the kitchen): "To get the other side!"
Katelyn (very matter-of-factly): "No. He got hit by a car and died."
Martin (after a moment of true laughter): "Now you really did make a joke!"

She is TOO cute!
So did the dolphins DIE after they collided?????!!!
Savannah has been worried lately that she is going to die on a cross and that soldiers will "poke" her. Poor thing!
Yup, Susan, they did... or at least one of them. Isn't that awful?!!
That's a great story! You have some great posts lately, Jodi. You're on a roll! Love you!
